WALKING TOUR - Industrial Middleport including the Branch Canal

From Longport to Newport Lane (Middleport), the tour will look at how Middleport’s industry has evolved along this stretch of the Trent and Mersey Canal incl. Price and Kensington, Middleport Pottery and Burslem Branch Canal. It will take in the past, present, and looks to the future of this landscape.

The walk begins at Middleport Pottery (free parking) and will depart at 10am, taking up to 3 hours. Please arrive 15 mins before departure time (9.45 am).

The tour route is via public footpaths and alongside local roads, with some moderate terrain. Sensible footwear is advised. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring your own refreshment if required. There is no toilet provision once you have departed from Middleport Pottery on your walk.

Due to the size of groups and locations visited, we’re unable to accommodate dogs or pushchairs on our walking tour.

The tour concludes back at Middleport Pottery where you can relax and recharge in our Café.
