13/10/2020Help us to raise £12,000
‘Unprecedented’, perhaps one of the over-heard words of 2020. Yet, it is exactly that.
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the team at Re-Form Heritage has done everything we can to secure all the support available to us. We’ve made some difficult decisions to reduce our costs and we’re continuing to explore all possible funding avenues.
Despite receiving support from the government’s job retention scheme and some emergency Covid-19 funding, we’re facing an uncertain winter without the income from events and activities over a typical visitor season - spring and summer.
In usual times, one of our largest sources of income is our events and education programme; our factory tours, play-with-clay activities, school visits and major events - all of which had to be stopped to ensure visitor safety. This year our Craftsmanship Festival, Beer Festival and most recently our much-loved Christmas Lights Switch On have all had to be cancelled – along with this, new sustainable income streams are largely unworkable in the current environment.
We need your help.
Re-Form Heritage needs to raise £12,000 to help protect our precious heritage at Middleport Pottery. With your support, this fundraiser will restore some of the income that’s been lost through closure and cancellations caused by Covid-19 and help us to continue with essential site maintenance, protecting the Grade II* listed buildings of Middleport Pottery over the winter period.
This is a challenging time for us all, and in these challenging times, we have seen, more than ever before, the impact of our work. Middleport Pottery’s stories, spaces and history have provided a haven and a safe space for visitors over these last few months. Your support not only helps Re-Form Heritage, but by supporting this campaign you are also helping the eight creative businesses based on site who rely on visitors coming through our doors. With your support, we can ensure that this special place continues to be open for everyone. Thank you,
Staff and volunteers at Re-Form Heritage
