A unique venue for your wedding

Middleport Pottery is a Grade II* listed Victorian pottery factory located beside the historic Trent & Mersey canal in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Originally built in 1888, Middleport Pottery is filled with authentic charm and original features; from atmospheric alleyways to charming indoor spaces. Visiting the pottery is an absolute must. All wedding and civil partnership enquiries receive a free tour of the site to explore all it has to offer.

Our History

There once stood seven bottle kilns; one survived along with many of the 1900’s original brick features that are set along the cobblestone alleyways. These features provide the look and feel of a bygone era.

Today, following a complete renovation of the site the Burleigh pottery factory continues to thrive a long side many other businesses. It is now the home of the Burleigh shop, Middleport Pottery Tea Room, Clay College, Middleport Studios and Re-Form Heritage Trust, as well as becoming an award-winning Visitor Centre Attraction since opening in 2014. What once was an old pottery site has now been converted into a living, breathing, inspiring venue!

Perfect backdrop

The site is too unique and beautiful not to be seen or used to its full potential. Its back-drop makes it a perfect wedding or civil partnership venue and is any good photographer's dream come true, which is probably the main reason why it is constantly attracting the attention from TV and filmmakers alike.

Interior spaces

The indoor room spaces, previously part of the factory, make use of a lot of original features inside too. Our signature room, 'The Burgess room', houses a lot of the original moulds used on the factory floor. For any pottery enthusiast, these alone are just amazing to see.
