CREATE WITH CLAY - Disability Learning Sessions

Thanks to funding from our partners, Museum Development Midlands, Art Fund and Arts Council England we are able to offer free creative learning sessions for people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
These sessions will be smaller than our public sessions, giving you a chance to be creative in a calmer and less crowded environment, making it more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Each ticket allows participation in the session. This includes a portion of clay, so everyone can get involved and create together.

17TH to 20TH FEBRUARY
FEBRUARY HALF TERM PLAY with CLAY
Time: 10am to 2.30pm
£3 per Participant requiring clay or free for Junior Explorer Members
In this self-led clay session you can get creative with your own lump of air dry clay. Using the clay tools cutters and mats provided you can create whatever you can imagine, or follow the provided instruction sheets to make different creatures, flowers or even a bottle oven!
When you are finished, take your clay creations home with you and just leave them to dry for 24-48 hours until hard.
Accompanying adults do not need to purchase a ticket.
28TH FEBRUARY
NEEDLE FELTING WORKSHOP - POTTERIES LANDSCAPE
1pm to 3pm

Join us for this 2-hour needle felting workshop. Create your own 2-D representation of a Potteries landscape of Bottle Kilns and the industrial landscape. Tea & Coffee included.

Based on the world-famous novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, expect atmospheric drama at its very best with this superb Victorian gothic thriller!

Raku is one of the most fascinating techniques within creative ceramics originating from 16th century Japan. Andy Mason will host this one-day workshop. Each timeslot is divided into two sessions. Session 1 - Select & apply the glazes to your pot. There is then a short break to enjoy your tea or coffee and cake (included in ticket price). Session 2 - The end of the firing process & the reveal of your finished piece.
