Raku is one of the most fascinating techniques within creative ceramics originating from 16th century Japan. Andy Mason will host this one-day workshop. Each timeslot is divided into two sessions. Session 1 - Select & apply the glazes to your pot. There is then a short break to enjoy your tea or coffee and cake (included in ticket price). Session 2 - The end of the firing process & the reveal of your finished piece.

WALKING TOUR – INDUSTRIAL MIDDLEPORT

Explore the rich industrial heritage of the Middleport canal. We’ll take a relaxed stroll along the waterways, uncovering the story of Middleport’s industrialisation, including the significance of the branch canal. Learn how this area became a hub of manufacturing and trade, shaping the local community.
Please arrive 15 mins before departure time (9.45 am). The tour route is via public footpaths and alongside local roads, with some moderate terrain. Sensible footwear is advised. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring your own refreshment if required. There is no toilet provision once you have departed from Middleport Pottery on your walk.
Due to the size of groups and locations visited, we’re unable to accommodate dogs or pushchairs on our walking tour.
