Re-Form Heritage is Awarded a £249,954 grant by the National Lottery Heritage Fund

Re-Form Heritage are delighted to announce that they have been awarded a grant of £249,954 by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support Middleport Pottery, the home of Burleigh Pottery. This grant will enable Re-Form Heritage to grow their visitor engagement at the last continuously operating 19th-century pottery in Stoke-on-Trent while also improving energy efficiency at the site.

Changes visitors will see during the next year at Middleport Pottery will be the introduction of a new Visitor Welcome Centre, and a new dedicated Learning Centre to support the expansion of the site’s learning programme. Re-Form Heritage, the heritage development trust for Stoke-on-Trent, aims to combine the regeneration of at-risk built heritage with economic and social regeneration, and these positive changes at Middleport Pottery will further help to drive improvements within Stoke’s heritage and tourism offer while also supporting Burleigh Pottery’s traditional craft production at the site.

Chief Executive Alasdair Brooks said “We are delighted to receive another grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support the resilience of Middleport Pottery, one of Stoke’s premier heritage attractions and an important centre of traditional ceramics production. It’s a tribute to the hard work of our staff and volunteers that the NLHF continues to support the positive changes we’re undertaking to grow the site offer”.

Everyone at Re-Form Heritage would like to say THANK YOU TO NATIONAL LOTTERY PLAYERS!
